The New Management Team of W.AG Sets the Course for Further Growth in Europe

Sales expert Bertram Göb and injection moulding expert Christof Hanschke have been the new managers of the successful plastic case manufacturer W.AG for over three months. With intelligent process optimisations, strategic technology investments, and an expansion of sales activities, they are currently preparing the company for further growth in the European markets. In their first joint interview, the company bosses outline the developments that they are correcting and which they are currently focusing on.

Geisa, December 2018. – Sales expert Bertram Göb and injection moulding expert Christof Hanschke form the new management of the renowned plastic case manufacturer W.AG since a few days ago, so the industry leader now operates under dual leadership in technical and commercial management.

A cosy get-together in Christmas atmosphere

Good things come in threes, so W.AG Funktion + Design once again celebrated at the quaint “Heile Schern” in Spahl. On Friday, 30 November 2018, many of the W.AG folk got together to warm up at the heated inn. Managing Director Bertram Göb sincerely greeted all employees in his speech, which was followed by a delicious buffet.

Small packaging solutions are often sought after as give-aways or promotional gifts to enhance the effect of the give-away. When it comes to the communication of a high-quality brand, the idea that “quality can only be communicated through quality” applies to the choice of the promotional item as well as the packaging.

Plastic case manufacturer W.AG extends the in-mould labelling by the Digimarc function

With in-mould labelling, W.AG possibly has the latest innovative decoration process for optical customisation of plastic cases. But to give their customers the opportunity to equip their cases with even more intelligence and information, the company is now linking the decoration process with the Digimarc barcode. With the integration of this digital watermark, users of W.AG’s design cases have access to a wealth of new functions for marketing, sales, service and process optimisation.

With 1,644 exhibitors and approx. 45,000 visitors, the European trade show FachPack 2018 has made a name for itself among the packaging trade shows. FachPack grew again this year. For the first time, it used all available space in the Nürnberg-Messe with a total of twelve halls. The reorganisation of thematic focal points led to new hall planning at this year’s FachPack. As a result, the W.AG booth changed from the traditional Hall 5 to the largest FachPack hall, Hall 7. At booth 7-310, the W. AG team displayed its new products and concept studies about its own plastic case product range such as Digimarc Barcode, organic plastic cases and smart cases (IoT).

At FachPack 2018, W.AG will focus on in-mould labelling of its plastic cases

Using the example of its successful HEAVY and JAZZ plastic case series, the manufacturer W.AG will focus on the customer-specific and product-specific customization of its design cases using In-Mould-Labelling at this year’s FachPack. In this innovative multicolour printing process, the outer visible surfaces of the case housings receive a brilliant, colour-intensive and scratch-resistant imprint directly in the injection moulding machine.

Manufacturer W.AG expands possibilities for the interior design of its plastic cases

As a premium manufacturer of product and customer-specific plastic design cases, W.AG also pays great attention to the production of customised inlays. As the processing and handling of modern foams plays a central role in this, the company has invested in two new CNC milling machines which are currently being put into operation. In addition, W.AG now offers the possibility to produce inlays made of coloured foam sheets and to equip the case lids with functional cardboard pockets.

From 04/03 until 07/03/2018, the International Hardware Fair took place in Cologne with more than 2,700 exhibitors from 55 countries. Case manufacturer W.AG Funktion + Design presented a new stand concept at stand C020/D021 in Hall 10.1 and featured some new concepts from the Geisa “plastic case universe”.

KA-RaceIng e. V. is a team of dedicated students and prospective engineers (mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering) from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), who develop, design and manufacture three Formula race cars (with a combustion engine, an electric motor and an autonomous one) as part of the international design competition Formula Student. The nearly 90 KA-RaceIng team members compete against more than 500 teams from international universities all over the world.
