W.AG recognised many years ago that, as a manufacturing company, sustainability is particularly important to W.AG. Sustainability is part of our DNA. As a company that has always utilised enormous in-house expertise at the Geisa site, we ensure that this topic is already included in the selection of raw materials and suppliers. We have recognised that we must take responsibility for all areas and partners associated with the company.

 

 

We have been working on a sustainable suitcase solution since 2018. Our employees form the cornerstone for all past and future changes. We know that the long-term success of W.AG is primarily ensured by addressing strategic issues such as the product life cycle at a sustainable level. Our employees regularly evaluate how we can make company activities and products more resource-efficient without jeopardising the familiar functionality of our case solutions. Our company location in the Rhön is thus actively contributing to the growth and further development of the region.

 

The management of W.AG Funktion + Design GmbH is responsible for the effective implementation of sustainability within the company. We are accountable for this to our advisory board, our employees, our suppliers and, above all, to our customers.

The conscious use of resources and energy is just as important as the impact of production on air and water. We are endeavouring to continuously develop the production process in order to achieve climate-neutral production.

  • Energy savings through the use of LED lighting with motion detectors
  • Introduction of a resource-saving case made from 93% renewable raw materials

For us, representing the interests of our employees includes not only their satisfaction, but also their working conditions and non-monetary benefits.

  • Offering more holiday days with increasing length of service
  • > 85 % permanent employees
  • Employment of three employees of equal status and four disabled employees
  • Workplace health promotion (health checks, free fruit and water)
  • Employee events (summer party, Christmas party, trainee trip, etc.)

Sustainability goes beyond the boundaries of the industry and the company. Supporting regional institutions and organisations has been close to W.AG’s heart for many years. In addition to the town of Geisa, this responsibility extends to the entire Rhön region.

 

 

Our initiatives

 

  • Annual donations in kind to local sports clubs, kindergartens, etc.
  • Annual financial donations to school support organisations
  • Raising awareness of training opportunities through participation in regional training fairs
  • Organisation of company tours for school classes from regional schools, senior citizen groups, etc.

In addition to our own production, W.AG also takes responsibility for the selection of its suppliers and partners. This includes the supply chain and the conscientious distribution of our case solutions.
