Investment in new injection moulding machines for increase in capacity
In July 2015 W.AG Funktion + Design GmbH invested in two new injection moulding machines of the brand ENGEL. With big interest the employees of W.AG watched the unloading and installation of the modern machines that generate new capacities for the series production.
For manufacturing high-quality locks and small plastic parts W.AG invested in an Engel victory 200/50 spex. Marcel Winter – staff member of the department process engineering – underlined the use of the new machine, “Because of the victory we can meet the high needs that results from our wide range of coloured case locks and small plastic parts.” The little 2.9 tonnes heavy injection moulding machine achieves a remarkable clamping force of 50 tonnes for its dimensions.
Its big brother – an Engel victory 1050/220 spex – has a weight of 14.2 tonnes and a clamping force of 220 tonnes. The injection moulding machine has a specific handling that is needed for the in-mould labelling method (IML). The special feature of this handling is the withdrawal unit with three movable axes. Standard handlings normally only provide one movable axis. The IML-ready machine is a great enrichment for the fields of expertise injection moulding and in-mould labelling.
“Satisfying the customers’ requirements and reducing the delivery times for IML-projects is very important for us”, explained Konrad Goldbach, CEO of W.AG Funktion + Design GmbH, “After assembling the single components and programming the machine will be seamlessly integrated into the series production and will manufacture first in-mould labelling orders.”
